Autumn Exhibition
Our Autumn Exhibition on October 9th was a wonderful success! We had 197 pictures on show and generated a lot of interest from potential new members and from passing shoppers anxious to cast their vote for their favourite paintings.

So, drum roll please, the winners are...

In the Adults category Cheryl Clayton won with her beautiful 'Tiger in Water' pastel.

Sue Westcott was the runner up with her charcoal and pastel portrait of her daughter 'Molly'.

In third place was Karen Read with her beautiful picture 'Friendship'. (Apologies for the flash bounce on the photograph.)

In the Junior section, once again congratulations to Joe Geehan who won with his pastel portrait of 'Oscar' the Springer Spaniel.

Congratulations to all the winners and special thanks to Jackie Kirby for collating the hundreds of voting forms so quickly.

News from October 6th Meeting
It was announced at our October 6th meeting that we have nearly 200 pictures entered for the Autumn Exhibition! We also have a new junior trophy ready for the winner of the public vote.

Joe Geehan, junior winner of the spring F.L.A.I.R. Exhibition, was (finally, sorry for the delay) presented with his trophy.

We're also running a special raffle for the stunning Vic Bearcroft pastel picture of a tiger, which Vic very kindly donated after his demonstration in August. The raffle will be drawn at the December 1st meeting.

And finally, Programme Secretary Christine Skirrow has done a fantastic job and already has the programme in place for 2011. There are some wonderful speakers lined up to come and demonstrate next year, click here for preliminary details, further information will follow.

Airfest 2010

On Sunday 26th September a street celebration of the arts took place in Redditch town centre.
A bracingly cold day (but at least it didn't rain), our stall had lots of enquiries and hopefully we'll have some new recruits! The festival was a great opportunity to see the wide range of artists working in the town.
