OCTOBER 6TH - GEOFF KERSEY - WATERCOLOUR LANDSCAPE

Geoff Kersey

Our chair welcomed everyone to the meeting and reminded us about our autumn exhibition due to take place in the Kingfisher Centre.

Extra volunteers were requested to help out on the day, because we have a record number of almost 200 paintings. She also said that the market stall during the Arts in Redditch festival generated many enquiries, and the painting day at Lickey Hills on the same day was enjoyed by members with colourful paintings being produced.

She also announced that a new junior trophy would be presented to the winner of our autumn exhibition, as well as the one for the spring exhibition.

She then welcomed the demonstrator for the evening, Geoff Kersey, who would be demonstrating a snow scene in watercolour. Geoff began by describing the history of the scene, St. Benet's Abbey and mill on the River Bure in Norfolk.

The abbey and mill now lie in ruins, which makes an ideal subject for the painting. Our chairman thanked him for a superb demonstration.
