FEBRUARY 1ST - A.G.M. & DISCUSSION ON MEMBERS' PAINTINGS
The first part of the February meeting was devoted to the AGM, the minutes of the 2011 AGM were approved and our President, Gil Eastham reviewed the past year's activities before the officers were invited to present their reports. Gil commented on the high quality of the demonstrators and the success of our exhibitions, no doubt aided by our improved presentation. He mentioned the popularity of our gallery visits to Tate Britain and the Lowry Centre and told us that visits to the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight, are being considered for this year. Plans have been made for our guided tour and painting workshop at the Barber Institute in April and Gil will distribute details at our March meeting. Ron Parker has stood down from the committee after serving for thirty years and Gil made him a presentation and thanked him on behalf of all the members. The Treasurer's Report included the good news that our subscriptions will remain unchanged and the Programme Secretary's Report gave a list of top-class presentations for this year.
Business concluded, we moved on to the discussion of members' paintings, led by Eve Tappenden. Most media and subject matter were represented and all paintings prompted constructive comments from Eve and the other members.
The next meeting will be at St. Luke's Memorial Hall, Evesham Road, Headless Cross on Wednesday, March the 7th. at 7.30 p.m. when Stuart Hudson discuss and demonstrate "Oil Landscape".
